10,000 miles on fixed gear

The picture shows a hundred thousand I know, but that was the only one I could find at short notice. But nevertheless I am happy to announce that I have just completed 10,000 miles on my fixed gear bike. Another opportunity to celebrate my success and big myself up. The typical thing to do is to go for a meal every thousand miles. But this one beckons a bigger celebration.
It’s just commuting and going for the odd ride here and there, but I’m still proud of myself. It really does keep me going to watch the numbers. You could argue that it’s just a number and some cyclists do it merely for the pleasure and don’t count their mileage. But I do enjoy seeing the numbers go up as well.

Good for you and congratulations! That’s a lot more than I’ve done and I’m happy for you. Keep pedalin’!
