july 2008/25 Zenith front hub on Mavic Open Pro
Zenith front hub on a Mavic Open Pro rim. Using ACI stainless steel double butted spokes with a 3-cross pattern. The spoke length was 288mm.
This wheel was a rebuild as it had been involved in an accident. After my initial inspection I thought that the damage was minimal and would only require the replacement of a couple of spokes and then re-tensioning the spokes. But having done that I saw that the damage was worse than that. So I took it all apart and started again. I wouldn’t feel safe on this wheel so why should I deliver it to a client. Good as new. In fact not just a rebuild but a totally new wheel with a new rim and new spokes.
