november 2008/34 Mavic Open Sport on Zenith hubs
Zenith track hubs laced 3-cross to Mavic Open Sport rims. 36 holes front and rear with a spoke length of 290mm using ACI stainless double butted spokes and brass nipples.
This was the full works including tyres, tubes and a sprocket. Initially I had spec’d all the parts for a 32 hole build and ordered spokes accordingly only to find them a touch too long. So I had to order a new set in the correct length. Of course I took the opportunity to buy some goodies for myself. I bought all the parts for this build from cyclebasket.com as they had the best prices I could find. The price including postage was only £128.00. That was including postage but minus the sprocket which is an old one that I had spare.
Other parts used in this build were – Velox Rim Tape, Nutrack inner tubes, Continental Ultra Gatorskin Duraskin tyres and a Shimano Dura Ace 3/32 16T track sprocket.
