2009/23 Shimano Dura Ace on Mavic Open Pro

No photos for these I’m afraid. Don’t know what happened. Perhaps I thought I’d taken photos when I hadn’t. Who knows. I sort of remember the battery being low.

These were a set of Shimano Dura Ace road hubs which were laced using the crow’s foot patterns. The front was a 32 hole so it was laced with a hybrid crow’s foot pattern and the rear was 36 hole so this was done using the standard crow’s foot but 3-cross crow’s foot as opposed to the 2-cross. Laced to Mavic Open Pro rims in silver. On the front the spoke lengths were 284mm and 290mm. And on the rear 280mm, 290mm and 292mm. Why three lengths on the rear? The dish. The 3-cross length on the drive side was a touch shorter to get the dish without hitting the end of the thread. ACI Alpina double butted stainless steel spokes and brass nipples. Velox rim tape.
