Eighteen thousand miles on fixed gear
They seem to come round so quickly nowadays while I’m least expecting it. Well, there you are, another thousand miles on fixed gear bringing me up and over eighteen thousand miles. Time for another meal or perhaps some other little treat. But I had better be quick in my desicion as the next thousand will be along before I know it.
Every now and again I do think about just getting rid of the cycle computer. But I do enjoy looking at the figures. Keeping an eye on my average speed and max speeds. But I don’t think I’m ready to give up on counting my mileage.
It’s great that this mileage is coming from general commuting but it would be nice to do a ride as well. Still meaning to join Audax at some point but for the moment with my busy life perhaps just a turn around Richmond Park might have to do. I can rejoice in the fact that I’ve done London to Brighton on my own twice this year and perhaps I can do it once more before the weather turns nasty.
I can’t help it; I love riding fixed.
