Tax return, bath and a nice lunch

After I finished last year’s tax return just a few days before the filing deadline I said to myself that I’d do it earlier the next time. But it didn’t turn out that way. I had it hanging over my head all through my christmas break and yesterday I finally made my submission. What a relief, what a load off my mind. I could properly relax again without the weight of the albatross.

I had a bath yesterday as well. It was actually just before my tax return went through its final completion. It wasn’t planned that way but that’s just how it worked out. I was nice and relaxed and was only planning to do a small amount of my return but ended up doing all that was left.

At my current abode I hardly ever have baths. I have lived here for just over a year and have only used the bath on three occassions. Why is that? Because it’s a shared flat and I don’t want to hog the bathroom. The water is heated by an electric immersion heater so it’s expensive and one tank only just about fills it up. But I love taking baths and miss the luxury of having one on a regular basis. So once I knew that my flat mates would be going out I seized the opportunity and got in there. A few drops of Olbas Oil, because that was all I had and a few pages of The Brothers Karamazov. Steamy and sweet.

What else went well today? Lunch, that’s what. I thought about the idea of getting a kebab on the way home but resisted. I’m sort of planning on going veggie for a few months to improve my diet. So instead of the kebab I got some hummus and some bits for a salad. Pretty good going I thought.
