Didn’t go on the computer today
Obviously I did go on the computer or else how would I be writing this? What I mean is that on a Monday I cycle across town and spend the day with my daughter. Before all my stuff got moved over a couple of weeks ago I still had a computer over there, but no more. The last time I was there I was there for three days so I took a laptop with me. So this was the first time I was there with no computer. My wife has bought herself a new computer and said that I am welcome to use it but I thought it would be interesting to see if I could last a day without having access to a computer. Every now and again I did feel the urge but on the whole I thought it went rather well. In spite of the fact that we stayed indoors all day today it was actually fine.
I think that about 2 years ago part of my week would be to have a “computer off day”. I did find it beneficial because even though I avoid TV as much as possible the computer has sort of become the new TV. And it’s good to have a break from an electronic screen whether it’s passive viewing or interactive. No emails, no Facebook, no Twitter and definitely no Evony. Let’s see how I fare next week.
