Manuka honey will it solve my cough?
I’ve had a cold since last Tuesday. It’s not a bad one so in spite of the sniffling I have been getting on with stuff. But now it’s getting to the cough stage and that’s not good. Means lack of sleep at night and my throat is hoarse so it’s difficult to speak. And I need to speak because I’m teaching classes. I’ve been drinking lots of water but that seems to make it worse. On the way to one class I popped into Julian Graves (or is it Groves) in the Whiteleys Centre on Queensway and asked if they had any healthy cough sweets. But they gave a big spiel on Manuka honey. I was sold. It was on offer too, about a third off. Still £6.00 for a small jar instead of nine. He told me to take it 3 times a day and not to drink any water with it as it will dilute the effect. Silly I thought but it’s actually feeling a lot better. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow. Will I go back and kiss him or slap him?
The other thing that went well today was the arrival of my BlueJ textbook. I cheekily asked an auction if they would sell it as a Buy It Now and they did. So it has arrived well in time for my course on Thursday. But do I have any time to read it? Hmmm. But at least it’s there.
