8000 miles

Every 1000 miles I celebrate by having a meal or marking the occasion in some way. This week was the completion of 8000 miles on this particular cycle computer. All on fixed gear of course. Mainly commuting around London and a few trips down into the countryside in Kent and two trips down to Brighton.

It’s a good way to remind myself that I’m doing something worthwhile. Something that I enjoy, something that keeps me fit and healthy and something that is good for the environment. And I’m also setting an example that others can follow.

Blowing my own trumpet I know, but if you don’t give yourself a pat on the back then you just end up beating yourself up. I think this is better. Feels good. Roll on the next millennium.
