Sunday, May 10th, 2009The reason for the break was that the rim had been sprayed black and had caused some of the nipples to become locked to the rim. Replacing a spoke meant having to re-tension the whole wheel which meant chipping off the paint near the nipples, oiling them up a bit and replacing some of the nipples where the flats had been rounded.
2009/19 Suzue Pro Max on Mavic Open Pro crow’s foot
Friday, May 8th, 2009Suzue Pro-Max track hubs laced in a crow’s foot pattern to Mavic Open Pro rims in silver. 36 holes. This was a 3-cross crow’s foot as you can see from the close up pics using ACI Alpina double butted spokes. The radial length was 268mm and the 3-cross length was 286mm. Linseed oil all the way and Velox cloth rim tape to finish.
